    Afaik, you're right!

Then again, I'm not too sure as nobody has ever reported using a (Unpatched, excluding the SCE HDD check patch) SCE ATAD.irx module for any homebrew software with a 137GB+ HDD.
MAybe there were people who tried it, but how does that match into this thread and to your quote? ^^

I didn't read the full thread and I think the topic changed a bit, but for the record I have to note that I successfully compiled and run the ps2 linux tool for managing ps2 hdd partitions under a linux distribution.

With that I successfully formatted a 10 gb hdd and created usable partitions for the ps2, as well as installing a game (saving up the space hdloader system partitions take up). Also, this hdd wasn't recognized by hdloader prior to formatting it in the computer (even though it was connected I couldn't format it in my ps2).

The tool is ps2fdisk: http://playstation2-linux.com/files/...fdisk_0.9-3.gz (dunno if the link works)

Here I describe the process (but in spanish).

Great to see you here again.

So,... I'm not sure if it matches, but if I remember correctly 'bootsector' created something similar for his Application-Package/Collection ('BR 9' or similar... It had quite cool ideas implemented and even some stuff I wanted to integrate into my peronal AIO...).

A linux which can be booted on PC-PowerOn and then format a HDD PS2-conform...
