PGEN and HDLoader question

if this sounds noobish forgive me, i just started getting into the ps2 scene.

i have an unmodified NTSC PS2 with HDLoader and got PGEN up and running off of it, but i cant seem to get the games working from a CD-R.

i used CDGENPS2 3.0 and added all the game files and made an iso, then burned it using alcohol 120%, with no luck.

anyone know how to get PGEN to read the roms from a cd-r?

I think that you need a mochip or a swap method for loading the CD-r.

PGEN can read games (ROMs) from the HDD, but you should find a way of putting them there. (DMS) HDD dump would help - just visit a neigbour of yours, with a mod and you're all set. The other way I could think of is to try PS2 FTP, but it doesn't worked for me.

I'm unmodded too, I got the AR Max Evo and it works fine. I can save on the HDD too.

you can't read from normal CD-R without a mod chip

you CAN, however, read from UMCDR with the codejunkies pgen or official pgen 1.25
