    okay ... what about this:

obviously in order to run pgen from hdloader, a ps2 cd image must be created for pgen... right? instead of creating a seperate partition for the roms, why not create a folder in the pgen iso (or whatever) and put all the roms in there so everything is in one image? know what i mean. hypothtically, shouldnt that work?

    Thanks SephirothTNH !
I couldn't figure out why there wasn't anyone else having a problem with 48-bit HD's and Pgen. Must have missed this post in Oct. I was having to disconnect my HD everytime I wanted to play, otherwise it would just hang looking for the ROMS folder on my HD.
    Thanks again...

I know I'm a little late, but I just got started with pgen. I had never tried it before, so I figured using the roms on the HDD would be the best way right now. I used the pgen that SephirothTNH hooked us up with and it loaded up perfectly from my mc. I then went ahead and created the partition with the HDD format tool. No problem.

Then I went to transfer my roms. Here's where I had a little bit of a problem. I can mount the partition fine, and I can transfer roms. After reading about problems with transfering too many at once, I decided to take it easy - like 3-10 at a time, depending on the file size. I got many to transfer just fine, but it keeps freezing up on me. Sometimes it's in the middle of a transfer. Sometimes it's after a transfer when it's trying to list the games (refresh). It's pissing me off. The only way to get around it is restart my PS2 and start up Execftps, which is turning out to be very time consuming.

    So here's my 2 questions:
    1) Once it freezes up, is there anything I can do instead of restarting the PS2 and reloading Execftps?
    2) Is there any other way to transfer roms to the HDD?

    1) Damn, I didn't think so.
    2) Are there any other programs besides ps2menu that copy from cd to HDD?
    3) They sure do. What a friggin disappointment they are this year. I'm a season ticket holder and the only reason I want to go to next week's game is to see Ben Roethlisberger.

    Help.
Got PGEN working on MC and thru HDloader (Thanks Jeex).
Even created the PGEN partition which PGEN sees.
    Just can't mount....SITE MNT /pfs/0/ hdd:+PGEN....
    FlashFXP reports
    [R] 550 SITE MNT failed.
I have the latest FlashFXP on eval and ExecFTP is v0.68
    Unmodded PS2, 120GB drive.

Yep - If anyone else can't see the hdd and pfs folders using FTP - change your 'menu' to 48bit one - seemed to work for me - possibly something to do with .irx files?

My beard's long but I'm not that wise....
