I have MyPS2 installed in Dev2 mode, pgen elf file in folder with some other programs. Running pgen, it sticks are the loading screen forever. Trying to figure out how to get it to work I see people say to put it on its own partition and run it from HDLoader. Is this the only way? I really have no use for HDLoader so I'd like to avoid this option.

Mine runs fine from MC, USB and HDD... never got stuck on loading screen.

Maybe you need to have a disc in the tray?
