PC(*.iso) to PS2 HD –
thers a lot apps out there for uploading ps2 iso on ps2 HD,
but im not sure whats the best one....(Faplink, Winhiip, Hd_dump/b)
which u think is best? the one use network cable to upload iso,
so ill elimanate winhiip cuz it doesnt have network support....
so im up to 2 apps hd_dump and faplink that support network...
i have question on HD_DUMP, which one is best to use as GUI for this cuz thers 2 (LORDBUGAMI hd_dump gui and the new one hdl_dump_frontend_1.6.0) which should i use?.....
faplink and hld_dump have network support, which i love, but faplink won't install games over 2GB. I've never used winhiip before, but it looks to be similar to hdl_dump's functions when connected directly to a PC IDE cable.
So I always use HDL_dump, just the command line version, I've never tried a GUI for it.
what i would suggest is getting a usb2 or firewire hard drive case and using hdl dump to load the games. faplink and other ftp style applications are very slow. it takes hours to load a dvd game while connecting the hard drive to a usb2 case takes a few minutes.
but in this case, u would need to take the HD out of the ps2 from the network adapter and then connect it to the case no?
yar. seriously, I find it much easier to wait the wait than to remove the HDD. I really don't have to play my games NOW!!!!! And you only have to do it once...if its a DVD game let it go while you're at work/school or over night. I think one of the GUIs has an auto-off function after the job is done.
Well everyone has their preferences eh? I'd prefer to transfer using an external case, I don't really mind swapping HD, just need to make sure I do all or most of them at once, to avoid having to swap so many times. While that's going on, I can play some games on my PS2 to pass the time!
Yeah there is a GUI with auto power off after the batch transfer is done, but the thing is, is that I don't have classes in the middle of the day! So it's play time with my PS2! But everyone has their own preferences. Also doesn't it take some time to find the ip and such of the PS2 when networking? Also you need extra supplies (router) to have it work right? Of course the HD needs a case to do it the other way..... so it comes out even I suppose.....
heheh true true. but i think its pretty risky to always be removing the HD all the time from the NA...i mean, ur always going to be abusing the connector and sooner or later somethings gonna give :P
Perhaps one could be extra careful and do it slowly and carefully....... still either way it'd be a pain in the ass. Of course you wouldn't be taking out all the time would you? I mean once you got all the games you have, you wouldn't keep getting more and more games would you? And even so, if you get one every so often, then you could probably load it onto the HD via HDLoader right? I mean one game that is, not for batch transfers or anything.
