Are there any other 'tools' out there to create non-ps2 partitions on a hdd? I'm using DMS hdd format tool right now and even the 48bit patched version is giving me incorrect filesystem sizes. I've got a v7 with matrix infinity installed (latest firmware) and a 160gb seagate hdd. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

edit: well, after doing a bit more searching on the forum, I've discovered that if you start with a small partition (896mb), it'll work. And then, just increase the partition by another 896mb as you need more room. Right now I've got a 1.7gb partition on my hdd and its working like a charm!
