Partition Data error. –
05-28-2012,12:09 AM
I've got a PS2 fat with a Seagate 200 HD that's been working great. I ripped a game then was transferring it from my PC to my PS2 using hdl_dumb and in the middle of the process my PC shut down. Now when I try to connect to the PS2 using HDLoader Server and hdl_dumb I get a "Partition Data Across 128 GB Found". I've pulled the HD and reformatted it using Winhiip then reinstalled the games that were on it but I'm still getting the error. I can connect to the PS2 using hdldumpguiv15 and I don't get the error and everything seems to work OK but I'd like to fix whatever is causing the error. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I tried that already without success. So I did both a quick and a full format then reinstalled the games and I'm still getting the same error,

OK, So I formatted it with NTFS under Windows 7 then formatted it again with WinHIIP 1.7.6 but now it says I only have 127.88 GB free but it's a 200 GB drive. Before I had 186 GB free after format. What did I do wrong? Also, now I can't connect to the HD over the network using hdl_dumx 0.8.3. I've checked my IP settings and nothings changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OK, I just tried something else. I deleted the folder on my PC that contained hdl_dumx 0.8.3 and hdl_dumpguiv15 and unzipped a fresh copy. I still get the same error message using hdl_dumx 0.8.3 but I can connect to the HD and transfer games using hdl_dumpguiv15 without the error. It also shows as being 186.6 GB. Is there something significant about the 128 GB size?

in WinHIIP 1.7.6 did you set the Option to 48bit when you formatted it ?

The first time around it set itself to the Toxic-OS so I did it a second time and set it to the 48 bit and formatted it again.
