odd HD-Loader error?
This is the first time this has happened to me, but I thought I'd ask if any of you have ever run into this?
I was running Dyanisty Warriors 4 Empires for about 3 or 4 hours off a custom skinned HD-loader, and suddenly the game crashes/freezes in the middle of a fight.. I hit reset on the console and power off my V7, then power it back on and go back into the HD-Loader, where it gives me the error saying I have no hard drive. (Im using a 80 gig maxtor drive) To I shut off the PS2 again unscrew the Sony network adaptor and pull out the HDD, the drive is luke warm not hot, (the drives in my computer get hotter) I let it sit for a few minuets, then plug it back in, and everything works again..
I wasn't using any of the compatiblty settings in HD-Loader either.
So Anyone had a problem like this before? or have any idea what might have caused it??
I've run other games on the HDD for longer than this before without a problem.
maybe it somehow worked itself a little loose, so it couldn't read it, that could explain the game messing up on you and hd loader not working, you then took it out and put it back in so the contacts were good again, just an idea
hmm I suppose it could be, but its not very likley, when I took out the drive it was still securely attached to the PS2 Network device. and The IDE connection shouldnt be picky enough were a millameter of movment is going to disconnect the drive..
I think I'll go get maxbast that hard drive utlity and run a test on the drive just to see if ita not error on the drive..
Edit: Well I ran the Maxtor Hard Drive Utility extended tests on the drive, it came up with no errors. And the Hard drive is again working fine.. So it looks like the error will remain a enigma..
