NTSC to PAL MC Exploit?
Quick question, my HDLoader setup is working fine for my NTSC PS2 system, but I have a friend who needs help with her PAL system:
Can I simply send her a Memory Card containing my working HDLoader files (latest ones patched by Zer0-X)?
If she purchases a PAL PS1 game disc (for MC exploit purposes) , would she be able to use it with with the Memory Card and Network Adapter/HDD that I will be sending her? (lives in Netherlands)
Your insights and comments are greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
Nope, she has to use EXACTLY the same game as you, i.e. same PSX game, same Region. So it will work IF
1) U have a Modded console, and are using a PAL game, so she can use the same PSX game, or
2) She has a modded console, so she can use the NTSC PSX game you are using
The PSX game used for the exploit has to be the same. Doesn't work with any PSX game.
best thing to do is to ADD the PSX id of the game that that friend is going to use to your TITLE.DB, then the title.db will trigger both from your and her PSX game.
i have a PAL machine as well and i didn't run into many problems because of this.
best thing to remember is that the exploit should go in BEDATA, not BADATA. if you make an exploit installer cd it should install itself there automatically, it did to me, and then it's good to remember (when using LaunchELF or such) to change the paths to BEDxx....
just ask if i didn't clarify myself well enough.
Best of luck,
btw, do i have to use the trigger disc each time i want to use the apps on the elf, or is the trigger thing a one off thing, meaning the next time i reboot my ps2, there will be no need to insert the disc again.
Trigger disc is needed every time you boot
Don't forget that PAL PS2's use BEDATA in contrast of BADATA and you should put the files on the correct place, as well as fix any config files in case you use a launcher or something.
