hi guys, i have search the forum, but i failed to get the answer on this question:

how come that NTSC games dont work from HDD (HDLoader) on a fat PS2 with the independance exploit?

i know that a modchip can fix this, at least the latest modchips, but i was wondering how to fix NTSC games, from HDLoader, on a PAL system.

    thx

I modded my PS2 right after i bought it so i do not have any experience with this.

NTSC games do work, but your TV must be NTSC 60Hz compatible.
Only thing you can't do is install NTSC games on a PAL console with HDLoader.
You must use Winhiip or hdl_dump

there's also these iso converters that converts your ntsc to pal or vice versa.

you won't need a ntsc tv after you convert it

    Question,

Are those patchers out there better than say ToxicOS's Y-Fix? Or will it do the exact same result? Sometimes the games are off.

i do know u can manually set the x and y axis with some patchers to get the best result, it requires sum testing though

Broodje, if you use a real rgb cable and a not so old tv, you should see the 60hz games in color and fullscreen, if you use a patch, the games will be slower and not displayed in fullscreen...

Yep i use a rgb cable for my ps2 and it works like a charm. I've only played NTSC games with it too (Pal V7 SCPH39004). I have never encountered a hdloader compatible game that i could'nt play on my old 21" goldstar pal only tv.
