  1. #1 Question Noobie Network adaptor questions
    e30user Guest
I've been reading around and noticed there have been a few non-working issues where the network adapter is at fault. I don't have an adaptor yet, but was wondering if there's anything specific I should look for when I purchase one. I thought that as long as it's a Sony official one, it will do. However, when I looked at them recently I noticed they only have the cat5 input and the dialup socket was gone. Not that I'd need it, but do the older ones with both inputs tend to be less faulty? Do the newer ones work just as well, and problems are usually user error or random defects? Thanks.

Is anyone using the new style NA with just the ethernet port without problems?

only prob with my was that my wd hdd didn't fit in the back (the hdd fit in but the power and ide connector wouldn't line up) but a torx 7 bit, a phillips head screwdriver and some metal cutters fixed that right up.

for those that are interested or having same probs i unscrewed the metal plate undid the torx 7 screws that were holding the power plug down. Then i cut the metal to the left of the power plug off so that the plug could move freely left and right. i then screwed the metal plate back on and the hdd then fit
