Im using free mcboot and I know to just turn it off I push the reset button. Now in my years of using computers ive been through a good amount of hard drives. Im using FMCB and HDloader. I was wondering whats the chances of corrupting the data on the HDD when I just push the power button to turn the system off while a games going or if theres a safer way to turn the system off while using HDL so I dont mess up the data.

I hope thats not to confusing.

I don't think that's possible to happen because you're not saving anything on the hdd while you're just playing(only just reading from it,not like on PC...read and writes constantly). And btw there is no other way to turn off the PS2,just don't use the switch at the back of the PS2 to turn it off while playing.

BTW just a question(I think I asked before but I forget).Does your PS2 turns off when you're playing from the hdd and just press(not hold)the reset button.

It is possible to corrupt data on a HDD when it is still being accessed, usually when data is being written to it, if you suddenly cut the power off.

The safest way to turn off a PS2 when a HDD is connected is to press the reset button til the light turns red, placing it in standby mode, then you can safely turn off the power by the switch in back.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded
