I'm sorry if this question is stupid. I'm not really that "experienced" when it comes to the hard drive and hdloader. I recently bought the network adapter and hooked up an old maxtor 40 gig hd to and and downloaded the "cracked" hdloader and it worked(?) it formated it to 9 gigs? it says i the drive has 9 gigs with 7 free. Is this because there are old files from my old pc on the drive? or is it the software thats faulty? or possibly a compatibility issue? I've scrolled throught the forums for a couple of weeks with out any answers and the tutorial link comes up empty. I'm still knew at this and I'd appreciate any input thanks alot

This is a really odd problem, you try reformatting? Perhaps something went wrong on the initial format. Its worth trying I guess. If that doesn't work I'd recommend formatting it in your PC (a number of apps can be used for this, I believe..perhaps someone with more knowledge can chime in) and then trying it in the PS2.
