Righty ho, got a silver PAL V9 or V10 (dont know which) with Matrix Infinity v1.36, Official PS2 Network Adapter & Maxtor 120GB HD.
Have installed HDLoader to the Memcard and i can install originals fine, when i try to install a backup(DVD) it just freezes at the checkin disc screen and the only way i can reset the PS2 is to flick the power switch at the back
Any ideas how i can install backups? What am i doing wrong?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated

hmmmm...well the u can solve the reset button by holding it down...it takes longer cause you have the hardrive in...and for back ups...i dont noe why it doesnt work...but it doesnt work for me...so i jus use a dumping tool.
try using name brand good quality cds..for ur backups and if that doesnt work use WINHIIP
Do you mean backups like the ones you made yourself? You can't install backups directly to the ps2 like that. The ps2 still checks if the game is legit so you need to use some kind of a mod like a slidecard or fliptop. Or use WinHIIP like P S 2 said. Heres what you do-
1- Go to the hdloader main screen.
2- Press eject and put in an "original" game.
3- Close the tray and let the ps2 read the game, let it read for about 15-20 seconds.
4- Press install and after it checks the game again, "do not" press continue.
5- Swap the original with the backup game, and hit continue.
So in other words, you need a mod to install backup game you made yourself if you want to install the game directly. Or just rip the game to your pc and transfer from there.
