Non-DVD ps2 games

Is there a way to load "CD" based Ps2 games to HDL 0.7c? Such as Risk Global Domination?? I've checked the ps2hd capatibility list and it should work if I can create an iso that works properly.

It seems that a "Fatal Error" message always comes up when trying to load directly with HDL 0.7c....

I tried loading directly with my PS2 and HDL 0.7c, and also tried using UltraISO, re-creating the CD and then loading with Winhiip 1.75. Both ways don't work, when loading with Winhiip, it seems to work, but when launching the game from HDL 0.7c only a black screen comes up.

I am now attempting to extract with IsoBuster instead, and adding dummy files to all the bad sectors.... but it is taking forever....

ps- the game i'm trying to get to work is Risk Global Domination and is a CD game not a DVD game.

Yes you can. You should probably try to install the ISO thru PC & hdl_dumb instead.
Though it sounds that there's something wrong with the game disc itself.

I don't know if there is something wrong with the game disc. It plays fine on its own. Just has problems when trying to use with the HD. I've heard that the Half Life fix should work for Risk... Anyone know where I can find that fix??

Do not "re-create" the image. just use winhiip to install half-life and risk from the disk on a pc.

I tried that... but I think something is wrong with my version (1.7.5)of Winhiip. I've never been able to install from the CD/DVDrom drive with Winhiip. I've always had to use DVD decrypter, then install the image with Winhiip. But in this case DVD decrypter won't work because it's not a DVD i'm trying to decrypt but a CD instead....

Any other suggestions?

Use CDRWin to create the BIN/CUE files of the CD games you want to play on the HDD, then use WinHIIP to transfer the BIN/CUE images to the PS2 HDD and then you can play them on HDL. This also works for the Contra games, Half-Life, and many other CD ROM based games.
