im planning to install a HD loader with my messiah 1 chipped PS2... what are the things i need to have? is there like a tutorial somewhere?

also, is it possible for my Messiah 1 chipped PS2 to play online games like FFXI and the upcoming Phantasy Star Universe?

    thx so much...

Alright, there are plenty of guides around and you should search them, but here it goes you can either get the original HDLoader disc or you can install the exploit on your Memory Card and boot it from there (use the search button) since there are plenty of threads with a bunch of info. Search for Zer0-X he is the man responsible for all the great updates that the HDLoader has.

As for playing online, I highly doubt it because FFXI requires you to to turn off the chip unless you can turn off the Messiah 1 which I don't think you can but if you do good. If you can't turn off your modchip you cannot play FFXI about PSU it depends they might be ways to get around it but it will require digging information up about playing online. But those topics are not allowed to be discussed here.

If there is anything else you need help with feel free to ask.

    another question,

can you put your personal files in your PS2 HD? ike photoshop files, avi and such? coz if ever im buying a 160gb seagate, ill use a USB thingie first for it to connect to my comp to transfer files. and how does WinHIIP work anyway? sorry for this semi-confusing question

sure, u can put all kind of fileso n your PS2 hdd, but ur not able to open them all, of course avi and mp3 and jpg work
but not .doc or xls files for instance

winhiip is a prog u run on your puter so put games on your PS2 HDD
only thing is u have to connect the HDD to your puter.

true, u can only send games to your PS2 HDD with winhiip.

But... if u have ExecFTP running, u can send all kind of files to your HDD.

But why would u do that ?

personal files on your ps2, u cant even watch them all. only mp3, jpg and avi IF u have a media player.
