Hello I just joined. I have been looked around for a step by step guide to hook up a hard drive to a slim PS2. I might be blind becuase I can't find one.

Can someone help me locate, or can someone post a step by step guide on how to do this.

Sorry if this has already been posted and I'm just blind.

I used the search again and found some information, but not sure if I have it all.

I have a slim ps2 so I need USBextreme, but is that all I need or is there more too it?

I have 80 gigs of .iso image burns from nero and alchol120. are they going to work with USBextreme?

Is the compatability list for external and internal or just one or the other?

How much slower is it to use USBextreme comparied to Swapmagic?

Is it worth my time to or should I stick with swapmagic?

Sorry for all the questions, and now I know I'm in the wrong forum.

But if you can help thanks

usb extreme is only compatible with something like 5 - 10% of all games. if you want a proper solution then you need HDConnect and HDLoader, but that will be very complicated to install.

if it's homebrew you're after then just get yourself an external USB case for your HDD. if you want to play games, then its either HDConnect or USBExtreme but i'd say neither of those are very good ways to do it.

you should get a modchip instead, or look at wiring up one of those cool electric switches that opens the tray (like swapping without shoving plastic card into the PS2)

I just want to use it for game, and maybe some emulators. But mainly games. I have swap disk and it works just fine but I'm lazy and am tired of all the swaping and copying. but it looks like this is the best way.

    thanks for the help
