New and confused.

Ok everyone... Im new to the whole hard drive thing....

Ive been searching and reading and im still stuck...

System specs:

V7 NTSC Playstation 2
Messiah 2 Modchip
Maxtor 160gb hard drive
Sony Network Adapter
Sony 8mb Memory card

OK... I have the uncompressed .ELF file and the system.cnf files.....
I know you burn them to a cd-r using mode 2/xa

This is the only two files i have... Is that the only ones i need?

After burning the disc... Its only like 3mb in size... Is this correct?

The PS2 plays all original and backups with no problem. Both cd-r & dvd-r...

But I cant get the hdloader disc to load....

Is there something im doing wrong or not doing?

Sorry guys for bothering you with this but im out of ideas.....

u need to route the system.cnf to the elf

If you mean editing the system file and putting in the filename of the elf...

I did that....

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\HDLOADER.ELF;1
VER = 1.0
VMODE = NTSC

My file looks something like that... Not at home to verify if thats the actual name of the elf or not....
