    alternatively use this:

    1 copy contents of soul calibur 2 except the system.cnf file to a folder on your pc

    2 copy cdloader files to same folder. the files you need are:
    system.cnf
    msystem.cnf
    scee_dd - this is a file folder
    fifademo - this is a file folder
    dummy.000
    cd7bet52.elf

    3 using the notepad, edit the system.cnf to say:
    BOOT2 = cdrom0:\CD7BET52.ELF;1
    VER = 1.00
    VMODE = PAL

    4 using the notepad, edit the msystem.cnf to say:
    \SOUL CALIBUR 2\cdrom0:\SLUS_206.43;1

    5 are you newbies still with me? your folder should now look like this:
    dummy.000
    slus_206.43
    bgm.afs
    movie.afs
    pad_0.dat
    pad_1.dat
    pad_2.dat
    cd7bet52.elf
    fifademo - this is a file folder
    irx - this is a file folder
    scee_dd - this is a file folder
    root.olk
    msystem.cnf
    system.cnf
    flistd.txt

    6 now i use hp record now to burn these to dvd, but whatever you use should work.

    7 now after you have your modified backup of sc2, just install it on your hdd using hdloader by whatever method is needed in your situation

    hmm it definitely worked for me (NTSC version)...I even stripped the dummy files so it takes only ~1 GB on my HDD.

    sorry it doesnt work for you, can you get your hands on the NTSC version?

    hmm i've also tried the jap ntsc version, maybe its just my fault ? could you please send me the cdloaderfiles + modified system.cnf/msystem.cnf ? the executable is called "SLES_517.99". thx a lot

    By dummy files you mean PAD_0.DAT PAD_1.DAT PAD_2.DAT ? so I can just leave em out ?

    download CD Loader here:
    http://home.rochester.rr.com/ps2cove...der_V7_ALL.zip
    either mount the image with Daemon Tools (google for it) or just burn it and copy over the files.

    modifying the .cnfs should be something everyone can do =)

    I don't remember the names of the dummy files, but it should be fairly obvious. PAD_x.dat sounds about right...

    maybe you'll just have to download the US NTSC version, if you own the PAL version this should at least be semi-legal

    I think I've already tried every version of cdloader including "CD7BET52.ELF"

    MSYSTEM.CNF:
    \SC2\cdrom0:\SLES_517.99;1

    SYSTEM.CNF:
    BOOT2 = cdrom0:\CD7BET52.ELF;1
    VER = 1.00
    VMODE = PAL

    packed all files into an iso with cdgenps2 and put in on a dvd -> my ps2 kicks me back to the browser screen but it detected a "golden disc"

    i've also tried to hdldump and winhipp neither worked

    The browser will not execute any modified ps2 cd/dvd games unless you rebuild them correctly with Sony "CD_DVD-ROM Generator". But HDLoader doesn't bother on the verification and will boot the image fine just if all the files are there. Thanks to Hundert, this method works perfectly for me (SLPS_252.30).

    Hi, Voodoox31,
    Maybe you shouldn't change the directory name to \SC2 due to the cdloader's sub menu for this method?

    I should point out that I didnt invent this method myself. Unfortunately I don't know where I got it from, or I would have given credit to the originator...

    I'm glad it works for you!
