Need help with HDL and MI

I have a V4 PS2 with a Matrix Infinity and the 1.82 firmware. I also have a 200GB HD that I want to start dumping backups on so I can save my lens. I'd like to beable to dump them over a network instead of ripping them from the PS2 to the HD.

I'm looking for a guide on how to install HDLoader(or whatever it is that I need to enable playing games from HD) and how to network my PS2 to my PC so I can dump games. TIA!

Alright, I've managed to get my HD formatted and installed. I also downloaded and burned the HDL.7c CD ISO and it works fine... I played my very first game ever from the HD.

Now I just need to know how I can put this HDL onto my memory card or better yet my HD so that I can boot directly with DEV2 mode.

you will need the hdloader.elf file you have, and rename it boot.elf. after burn all the files you have to cdr, and follow the directions on screen. these are the files you will be burning to cdr.

DUMMY.BIN
DUMMY2.BIN
SYSTEM.CNF
DEV2I.ELF
BOOT.ELF

Geez, I suppose if I had read the readme file that came with the DEV2 install then I would've known that. Thanks for the info.

I used CDGENPS2 to create the .bin and cue for my Dev2 installer. Burned the disc and when I put it in the PS2 it tries to boot... then it sounds like the HD cycles power and the ps2 then goes to the browser screen.... what am I doing wrong?

Nevermind... I got it. I had to pad the image with a dummy file. Thanks again.

One more quick question.... probably a stupid one... will ToxicOS work with the Matrix Infinity or no?

yes it will. but i use hdloader i dont really know if its that much of a difference. they are still from the same creaters aint they?

I don't know... but ToxicOS has some additional features and will soon have built in FTP. So I was just wondering if I would beable to use ToxicOS even if I don't have the DMS4 modchip.

the answer is no on Toxic on a Matrix chip 2 different groups
