Need Advise. –
Hi. I have Slim, black casing, Matrix Infinity v.1.82 PS2. I want to buy hard drive 40GB for my console but here somebody tell me that hard drive is not compatable for your console. I want to know that is it true? Please advice me that is there HD compatable for my console? and where from online I have to buy? Please need your suggesstions and help.
The slim PStwo models are never ready for direct connection of a standard HDD with ATA interface (non-USB), and only the earliest models can be rebuilt to accept such connection.

Later PStwo models (both the two latest I think) can not be rebuilt that way, as Sony have changed the design specifically to make that impossible. This design change had no other purpose than to sabotage the ability to connect an HDD.
You still have the option of connecting an HDD by USB interface, but this means that you will suffer the usual handicaps of that interface, meaning that it is *slow* and not compatible to HDLoader or other software requiring an ATA connected HDD. You will be able to use USBAdvance to run some games, but there are many games it isn't compatible with.
As for where you can get whatever you want to buy, I'll leave that for others to answer, as I've never had occasion to search for such hardware myself (my own PS2s are both of the old fat models).
