  1. #1 Question My PS2 wont reconize my HDD.

Hi guys guys, (1st post, hehe), I got an original unmodded PS2 with an official Network Adapter and Official HDD and an official HDLoader disc. I backed up most of my games without any problems at all. I just got NCAA FB 2005. I tried to install it and it said not a valid PS2 disc. I tried again later and it installed. When it was complete. I hit OK and my HDD was empty. I restarted my PS2 without memory cards and went into the browser, and now it says "No Data" I tried reinstalling the HDD with the Utility disc but it fails. I tried reformating with the HDL disc and it looks like it works good. But after I turn off the PS2, and restart it, it still shows no data on the Browser screen.
Is there a fix to this? Can anyone help a brother out? Thanks.

You need to have the HDloader disc in. You can't play games off the HDD in the PS2 browser.

Clinton, I know that. I've been using it fine til recently. I'm talking about when you go to the browser, you see the HDD, and the memory cards. Well now I don't see the HDD anymore.

ahhh ok ok. I see . My bad. That's an unfortunate problem you have. I'd suggest you try reinstalling with the HDD utils which you've already did as you said. I'd also try taking out the HDD and putting it back in.

you may also try putting the hard drive in your computer and formatting it there and then putting it back in your ps2, maybe your hard drive has corrupt data and the HDL disc didn't format it correctly.

Hey Clint, I tried all those already and unfortunatly nothing.
Hared that may be it I guess, but I formated the HDD with the HDL disc and the HDD Utility Disc. I'm not too computer savvy so I'm not gonna try and mess up my PC too. LOL

Anyways I just went out and bought a 120 GB Maxtor HD, formated it with my HDL disc and installed my Arc The Lad game. And it all worked well. I don't suppose you'd see the new HD on the PS2 Browser Screen? I didn't. But the HD seems to work only when I put in the HDL disc. I'm just happy it works now. Too bad all my other stuff got erased.
