Ive tried searching the forums but dont seem to have found a clear answer.
Is it possible to play import games using HDAdvance on a non-chipped Pal PS2 or does it have to be chipped?
Thanks!

Heh. Stupid question. Of course it's possible. I have little choice in Korea as most Korean-Japanese games aren't in English. So most of mine are the US releases. Of course both are NTSC standard. I can't play PAL games. Whatever yours is, you won't be able to play the other.
I can play both PAL and NTSC games from HDLoader without a modchip. It's just a question of cabling and the TV being used.Originally Posted by darkpoet
Thanks mate. Thats all i needed to know. Would the same apply to USBExtreme then?
Oh god, forget USBExtreme and just go for HD-Connect if you have a v12 PSTwo.

My previous ps2 chipped with messiah 2 died on me so i picked up a version 7. The majority of my games are backups so i just needed some advice on whether i should chip it or just get the HDAdvance kit.
Don't forget you can rip the PAL import games and convert them to NTSC for hdloader.
Cheers lads! Thanks for the help!
Why would anyone want to do that when HDLoader can run import games without converting? All modern TVs can display both NTSC and PAL just fine. And don't forget that PAL is technically superior to NTSC, actually.Originally Posted by digitalFX
Very few TVs in the US display PAL, unfortunately.Originally Posted by DrGast
