Mod Chip/HDD Problems...
I think this may have been asked before or something similar to it, but not sure... So I'll ask away..
I bought the FFXI online pack before I got my machine modded... When the Hard Drive was loaded into the PS it will not play any of my backups or allow me to read my original discs... I get the red screen in any case...
My question is this.. Is there any way to re-format or install something on the HD that will allow me to get back to online gaming with no BS??? I uninstall the online adapter and everything runs perfectly..
Please help here...

just unplug the hdd and it'll run the modchip just fine.. lo
it's just that the hdd has a modchip protection... so unless u got the dsm3! or have a unofficial (3rd party) hdd u can play ur backups on line ^_^...
if u wana go play games wit the hdd on (liek residentevil and socom2) then get a dsm3 or a swap method :-p

yeah, or trade for a ps2 formatted non-sony hdd (but no original hdd-games...yet) and use for hdloader/hdadvance use, or just find a way to somehow UNINSTALL the extra features like the new browser that sees the hdd from your hdd. It installed a bios update that jammed you on the modchip, I think the effect was intentional on sony's part.
