I can confirm that transfering MGS3 with hdl_dump resolved the Eva Cutscene problem. And yes that was an important cutscene

Well I formatted my hdd through hdloader and then used hdl_dump. Plus hdl_dump transfers games faster than winhiip. It took 2 mins to tranfers MGS3 with hdl_dump, where as winhiip took 6 mins.

Just want to put my two cents in. Game works flawlessly on hard drive. I used PS2 Handiness 0.7. No glitches or anything.

Awesome game btw. I couldn't stop playing.

Oh crap! i'd been playing all night....like 7 hours straight without saving....get to the last guy...and it freezes. I just wasn't thinking about saving. I transfered with hdl_dump. everything else worked perfectly. I even had a few runs with this boss that worked fine. damn.

    save often

It's best to run the drive up in the PS2 inbetween swapping programs.

So with hdl_dump you achieved 36Mb/s but with WinHIIP you only achieved 12Mb/s. What did you do that was different? They both use exactly the same method of drive access! I think your times are out, hdl_dump is marginally faster because it does less work.

Btw. My 18 month old son came into the room whilst I was looking at your posts, he immeadiately shouted out EYES and got very upset when I hit quoted reply and they disappeared

I have a fixed version of WinHIIP, but I want somebody to test it with MGS3 for me before I release it. Any offers?

Yea the transfer speed was around that speed going down and up. Didn't go down below 26mb. Where as winhiip speed didn't go above 15mb and went down eventually through the transfer. Even though you think the time is out which I highly doubt, hdl_dump fixed the cutscene error plus transfered the game faster thus taking only 2 mins.

I transfer the my other games with hdl_dump that were 4.5...gb which also took only 2 mins and some change. Don't get me wrong I love your program. it was the first program I used to transfer my games. The simplicity of it and the interface both genius work of art. Only the bug that mgs3 got from your prog is what got me kinda off. Transfer issue not big of a deal, its the safest speed so i don't have problem with it.

Hope in the future you continue creating great programs like winhiip. I know you'll learn from these issue's and make the program even better than it is which I will be looking forward to. I am sure hdl_dump isnt perfect either, it may come up with problem along the road that you may have the cure for

Just for the record, the bug has gone, I'm sorry for wasting the time of anybody caught out with this one. It only affected images over 4Gb, the new version is V1.6.4 for anybody thats interested.

Does anyone else have a problem with Snake Eater locking up when you try to save your game? It always locked up on me around 75% but it still saved fine... I had to reboot my ps2 and it worked. But this time I saved it and it froze around 25%, and when I go to load my game it says "Data Error" or something and won't load...
