MDMA; UDMA Modes –

Hi there, been trying to scarf for information regarding these, ...I was just curious, Though HDL 0.8b works flawlessly on my system, after booting the main elf off the HDD itself i get to play games with shorter loading times, but then again, For UDMA and MDMA, I understand that this has something to do with the data Read rate of the HDD, but which is which? really?...No-one has been able to define the actual default read speed of HDL, so I lets say my samsung 80GB hdd is UDMA 133mb/s would it be safe to have HDL patched with UDMA enabled at 100 mb/s or would it cause my hdd to breakdown. I hate to say this but I do installation of my games off the ps2 laser, personally I dont believe it does give my ps2 laser that much of a strain since 30 minutes of installation is nothing compare to 3-6 hours of nonstop FFX (Party Uberizing). Does setting HDL to UDMA support ruin installation of new games? What are the pros and cons to this? So anyways, I'd surelly appreciate information on this one, tried searching for a thread however wasn't really satisfied with what I found a while ago, I found a thread in the IDE HDD discussion boards bout HDL modes and UDMA/MDMA but it didn't really do much of help,. thanks in advance! Cheers!
