Hi, everybody...... I want to get answer for my problem. Well, I have an Maxtor 120gb with an V4 Playstation2 and HDAdvance 2.0, then it freeze constantly. When I power my Playstation2 the HDAdvance splash screen appear but the HD freeze and not continue to the other Menu screen, and in the PS2 the orange light when its freeze is always on without blink. In most case this can go to menu screen, but when I start the games the Harddisk freeze again in anywhere in the game, I tested 8 games. I try another HD (20GB) that I have and it run all the games without freeze nothing. What is? the model of Playstation V4? The network adapter (I have the both modem and lan)? or is the HD Advance 2.0?

I test the Harddisk with powermax and it look good, also I install XP and try it for 3 days in an PC and never freeze. What's up?

probably poor connection. make SURE to tilt your ps2 disc tray side upward when sliding the hard drive+adaptor in, then leave it FLAT whiel tightening the coinscrews. then you should have less trouble.

Furthermore, it's a good idea to rig up some kind of homemade "rail kit" for your HDD. The official HDD has rails that made the drive fit snugly in the bay. When you just stick a generic bare drive in there, it just floats it there so there's plenty of opportunity for the connection to get loose, for vibration to occur, and all the bad things that can come from it.

I placed a couple of thin rubber sticky pads on both sides of my HDD, then covered them with a few layers of electrical tape until the drive fit snugly into the bay. I was hearing vibrating noises from time to time before that.

And oh yeah, don't use ANY tape other than electrical tape!

Hi, I test all, I format with the Playstation and freeze, I format with Winhiip and freeze. I convert game in Playstation 2 and freeze, save game with Winhiip and freeze. I can format the Harddisk and dont put any game on it, and when I put the HD in my Playstation 2 this freeze also in HDadvance2.0 with the light of Harddisk ON without blinking. I dont think that this problem is by connection, I test another HD and it's like charm! when I put the other this have problems...

If the drive is under warranty, RMA it.

Yeah... RMA it... that shitty Maxtor test software is worthless... always reported mine fine when it wouldn't even format... Maxtor is real good about their warrenty... try that first... if that doesn't work then it's a problem with the network adaptor... or maybe the PS2 but I doubt it.

I had the same drive (I'm assuming) in my PS2 and never had a single problem....

I try this drive with PC, windows XP and all is fine... but in the ps2 fail. If I used the RMA and they dont see any problem they dont replace it. My network adapter is modem and ethernet this not affect?

    fast&furious, no you cannot

jackass5, that half broken shitty drive I had worked fine with windows xp as well, but it still would not format fully... just RMA it... they don't even test them...
