what are my options to play games, can i do it with a Network card, hddrive and HdLoader?
or do i need to get a new chip?
or some sort of homebrew software?
i have searched the thread but cant find any details

I'm not familiar with your mod-chip, so I don't know if it offers any ability to boot from memory card (Dev1 booting). That is what you need to do of course, if your laser is completely dead.
If your laser is only partly dead, like my own, refusing to read DVD discs but still able to read CD-R discs, then you can make it even without Dev1 booting, by using the 'exploit' (triggered by some PS1 disc).
But the best results will be had if your chip supports Dev1 booting (like mine fortunately does), since that makes you independent of the laser.
Best regards: dlanor
