is it possible to make a hdloader disk yourself? i have the elf but after several nights of reading i am not sure if its possible or what other files are required.
hdloader/hdadance are quite dear downunder......sorry for the noob question but i couldnt find the answer myself.....

no its not chipped. i have a network adaptor and a 40 gig hdd. all i want to do is make a loader disk so i can put my games on the hdd and dont want to mod it. i have read several tutorials but none i have found will simply tell me how to make a disc to use. is it possible? without mc exploit? i mean make a disc , put it in the tray , turn on the ps2. use it to format the drive and then convert a game to the drive etc....
what files do i need i have downloaded some files. i have the patched elf for hdloader from this site.
is there a tut that i have missed.....
Your best bet is to use the MC exploit and have a PS1 Trigger Disc to run the exploit. You should be able to find the necessary info regarding the MC exploit on the forum. If the ps2 isn't chipped, you'll need to either use the Swap Magic setup (..... I don't really like SM....), or knife trick (umm... I don't recommend this unless you know how to do this), or get a modchip. That's just my thoughts... good luck.
This has been covered a lot of times. You can not make a self-booting PS2 disc. Use the search, all the answers you need are here if you'd put some effort into this.
