    I was transfering some games saves from my mem card to my HDD without any probs, then I went to erase REO from the HDD so I can have more GB's to use for games. Then I went back to the browser screen to select the ps1 game to use HDLoader. It took a little longer to load than usual and was wonder to myself if I had erased anything that I needed to start up HDLoader. After it was fully loaded it had said that it had NOT detected any Hard Drives. I called up sony and they told me that Mad Catz's mem cards arent fully compatable with Sony's HDD and told me to call them up for a refund.

    Has this happened to anyone b4? Is there a way to revive the hdd? The pc dont see it through WHIIP which means it isnt ps2 partitioned anymore either . I put in the HDD Utility disc to see if I can format it and it doesnt see it either. Can anyone help me out please??

    If your using windows xp, when you've got the hdd in your pc, can you see the harddrive through computer management->disk management

    Also a long shot but did you bend any of the ide pins on the hd?

    No I forgot to check if the pc can see it, I only checked if WHIIP could see it. NO none of the pins were bent. The HDD was working b4 I moved the ICO save from the mem card to the HDD.

    If you can't recover your data, and you can't see the drive in winhiip, then I would check if the drive is visible in windows disk management and just give it a format to fat32 or something. Then go back to winhiip and format it for the ps2.

    Use the hdd tools disk that came with your official hd.Go to install hdd software and after that,it should recognize it.If not,check to see if one of the pins on the hdd is pushed in a little.If it is,pull it out with some plyers(happened to me before)

    If it shows up in device manager, you should see it in disk manager.

    Go to start->settings->control panel->administrative tools->computer management

    which brings up computer management, then on the left click storage->disk management

    You should now see all the drives hooked up. Your ps2 drive should hopefully show up as "healthy (unknown)" or something like that. From here you can give it a fresh format or just delete the partition. Then see if you can give it a ps2 format.

    Check the pins on the hardrive I guess. See if any are bent or if one broke off.
