Hi Im new to PSX Scene and Im not sure if this goes here...anyway heres my question I have an arcade with 20 PS2 "Slimline" version(its illegal according to sony but we dont have any copyright laws where Im from )...is it possible to have a designated server and have the PS2 load games from the server via a Server/client setup(switches,UPT cable...ect)...If not could you advise me of a similar setup,if any, thanx.
As far as I know, nope, it's not possible. But if you have USB drives for the PS2's, supposedly you could hook them all up to a PC and use a hard drive cloning software (one that doesn't need any known partition info) and clone the hard drives overnight.
I'm not sure how well a PC would work with 20 USB hard disks attached, and I've never done any cloning of a PS2 disk... but I've done it for weird propietary partition systems and it worked ok.
Take a look at Miray Software's HDClone, that did the job for cloning HDD's with weird (i.e., unknown to Windows or the OS) partition systems :-)
With this method, you'd only need to have a master disk where you put all the games, and whenever you want to update the other PS2's, you'd just go, hook up the disks to a PC (or to several PC's) and do the cloning.
