Linux on HDloader info
Hi there, newbie on the scene.
First post, trying to contribute with some useful information.
About a months ago I was messing around trying to install the linux kit on my ps2 using the hdloader. A friend of mine owns a original copy but all I got was a black screen. I asked the support back then if the HDloader was compatible with the PS2 linux kit. This is the answer I got:

Does anybody have any info on this so called "beta"? I was trying to locate it on the p2p and torrents out there, but all I can find is the same version I'm getting the blank screen.

The beta version only Japanese, although it probably has english packages on it...it was sold to aprox. 7900 Japanese Linux freaks, and it may be a bit hard to find. I only have Version 1.00 NTSC U/C Official. I doubt that it would work with HDLoader, while it can read GAME type partitions, it certainly cannot install on them (as far as I know, both version install on ext2 partitions only because the Kernel predominately supports this format since its a 2.2-series kernel)
