    Hi

I have a little problem with launchelf.
When I'm trying to access my hdcombo's HDD.
I can't see any Hdloader's partition, and none lauchelf's command are available in the option panel.

I have made several test with different HDD and different version of launchelf, but none permit me to see my HDD content. But the HDD works Fine because I can load game from it (with hdloader).

Does someone know what could be my problems?

    thanks by advance.

I was having the same problems. I have been recently told that the v12's have problems with current software being able to read data from the hard drive. Toxic works fine but any software like launchelf cannot read the HDD - here's a quote "with the slim and the HD-Connect/Combo you can't currently browse the HDD. The MI team has found a way to install HDL to the HDD on a slim with and dev2 installer they have and it allows you to boot HDL in dev2 mode but I'm still unable to access the HDD with apps like
    ulaunchelf"

HDLoader's partitions are hidden. Each game has it's own partition and it's not really worth it to have access to those partitions, because you can't do anything with them. If you wan't to have partitions that you can access get myPS2 or DMS's HDD Utility.

i dont know how you have your pstwo formatted but if you are using 48 bit patched hdloader with APAEXT (toxic extended format) then you will corrupt your drive with 48-bit patched programs because 48-bit patched programs expect the drive to be standard APA formatting. You must use 28-bit programs (which means the programs "should" only be able to read the first 128GB of space - which is ok because toxic puts the games in the space above 128GB first)

if you are using 28bit hdloader then you should be ok

i'm not exactly sure why the dms hdd utility doesn't work - i suspect it is because the program cannot read the hdd on v12-v13 pstwo with attached hdd's - for the reasons specified in my previous post

I have tried standard 28-bit formatting - 48-bit hdloader formatting AND toxic APAEXT with the same results - dms hdd utility has me format EVERY time - DMS hdd explorer says it can't read the drive - toxic megapack installs but when I try to launch apps I get RSOD - sony's browser utility installs but does not work - and ulaunchelf cannot read the HDD

someone will come up with a fix one day - I'm sure of it

So I've found a solution I have modified the launchelf 3.49 and then I can browse my HDcombo drive, and copy some ELF to it.
you can download it here http://rapidshare.de/files/14541281/...pport.ELF.html

So the solution was quite simple I've just open the Launchelf with an hexa editor and search this Strings:

    27 05 00 40 10 00 00 00 00
    00 05 00 40 10 21 xx xx xx

    and replace them by

    27 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    00 05 00 00 10 21 xx xx xx

I have done that because it's the only difference witch exist beetwen hdloader0.7c and hdloader0.7c with v12 support, so for me it's work, so you can try if you want

Thanks axl, for your efforts to help. Another user (lonwern) was able to pinpoint the exact patch location in source code as well, and using this I have now implemented some PS2SDK source changes allowing me to produce both the original and a patched driver version, as part of the PS2SDK binary release.

Using this I have now recompiled LaunchELF again, almost identically to v3.50, except for the version code and the inclusion of two sets of ELFs. One set for traditional PS2 models and one set for slim PStwo models. Please try those out and report your results.

This new v3.51 release is available now in the uLaunchELF release thread, as usual.

    Best regards: dlanor
