Lauching HDL via HDD, without a CD ou MC

They say its possible, but i don't know.

You can boot off HDL from MC without using CD in DEv.Mode ( that is if you have a d m s chip or ripper chip )

I believe you can from "*** hddloader", Using dev.2 mode. Thus no need for MC or CD.

It's impossible. Dev.olution Mode II cannot run it due to the fact that the DM$ Explorer uses the HDD drivers and when you load the HDLoader ELF from Dev.olution Mode II it will simply crash.

false it work just fine it's a problem with the compression method (some compression don't work but it's the same from mc and ps2link) just insert a decompressed hdloader.elf and it work fine. i have it on the hd but i think it's better loading it from mc because i don't need to select hdloader from a list

I have HDL instead of Dev2, so my copy loads from the HDD when I start my PS2.

yeah HDL works perfect when launched from Dev2 (HDD).
But to answer the thread's question : YES, you can launch HDLoader from HDD but your console must have a modchip (D.MS, Matrix, etc...)
