    I bent one of my pins and now hd loader wont see it. anyware i can take it to get it fixed. Can a computer shop put a new set of pins in without loosing all my data

    try getting a paper clip and cut it to the size of a pin , maybe a little longer, insert it into your cable where the pin is supposed to and then put the cable to ur HD making sure the pin (paperclip) goes into the whole. hope it works man. if not, get and old HD and try and swtch the pins your self.
    NEW , v4 mobo , 400-C laser , Matrix infinity chip ,
    modded with 2 windows and painted white.
    ps2 , V4 , unmodded. (SOLD )
    ps2 v7 with Messiah 2 chip...(Died )

    currently using , infinity manager ,hdd utility tools so i can save games to HD via the brower ,HDloader ,
    ps2menu-k w/ 160GB HD, and networked to PC for game transfers , and media player. damn i love my set up , thanks for the install THINKDIFF <done bussiness with him twice so far and the Mod installs are perfect. (highly recommend if your in NY)

    Projects:
    1.modded memory card with big ass blue LED: done
    (check forum for pics)
    2.just finished the door bell mod , can reset my ps2 from 100ft away (wireless)... just makes me happy!

    looking to start another project, holla at me if u got any ideas..

    hey thanks but the pin isnt actualy bent its just pushed in a little. HBut is there anywhere i can have it done profesionally

    bad luck , try pushing it though from other side , i was lucky pushed a pin through then i pulled it out , but works fine , i must have been lucky

    get yourself some tweezers and gently push the pin back in place.

    you can do the same thing with tweezers
    all of this is still based on if the other end has continuity however.

    most computer shops dont "fix" anything, they just replace. make sure you dont bend more pins trying to fix the first one.

    how big is the hdd you're trying to fix?

    if its 80gb or below its probably not worth taking to a shop to get fixed. you could get a new one for about $50.. and you might as well get a bigger one if you're purchasing a new drive.
