I have a couple of Jap games that I want to install onto my hdd. I have a chipped ps2 that plays them fine, but the chipped ps2 and the hdd don't like each other. I was wonder what is the best way to get the jap games onto my hdd. I can't use winhiip because I am currently running off of a laptop, so I am pretty much stuck on the network thing. I have seen alot of people have it gt4 on the hdd, but I haven't seen how to get it done. My hdl and hda won't read the disc because it is a jap game. I have done some searches but they don't really give any info. Thanks for any help.

You have to either install with a Japanese PS2, a modded PS2 that has a hard drive-friendly mod, or a PC. Those are the options. Since my only PC is a laptop, I use the Japanese PS2 option. Of course, you have to have access to a Japanese PS2 for that...

Try something like this: IDE - USB converter

I take my HD out of my PS2, put it into my converter and plug into my laptop. Works a treat with Winhiip.

Sweet, thatnks for the help. I totally forgot about using my extrernal hd case. I currently have a internal hd installed into a external usb case. I guess I will have to give that a try. Thanks again for the help.
