Does anyone else hate the fact that if you have a non-Sony HDD installed in your PS2 that it doesn't fit exactly right? It annoys the hell out of me and makes me worried that it's gonna disconnect while moving it back into place after upping a new game. That might corrupt the data on there and that's just a pain... Does anyone know where you can get a small metal case to make drives fit in the slot right or has anyone rigged up something similar? Thanx

I'm still looking for that expansion bay cover I took out when I bought my NA two years ago. Maybe I could do something out of it.

    It bothers me...

My theory is that as soon as someone determines that there is a safe profit to be made, you'll see stamped metal hdd brackets (ala the OEM HDD) being sold on the mod sites.

If I were more anal, I would probably go have some custom brackets machined to fit. A real machine shop could very likely laugh you off the property, but vocational schools are a great place to get little projects like this one done cheap.

    Peace.

A person should be able to make one out of some thin steel or aluminum. I would give it a shot, but I have never even seen the official HDD. Once i see what I am up against, I will prabably give it a try.

that's true, everyone's out to make a buck....and i just want my hdd to stop rattling around in there. It's the basic law of commerce...supply vs. demand. I'll hit up Lowe's or home depot next week sometime and try to see what i can buy to work with. maybe i'll figure something out that will resolve this

That was kind of my idea too. I'm going to be seeing one this weekend. I will snap some pictures of it if I remember to bring the camera.
