Before you burn the information, (lets just say the program is mediaplayer), alter the name of the elf from mediaplayer.elf to something that a real PS2 game would have... like SCUS_972.48 (just as an example)...if the program has a SYSTEM.CNF, redirect that CNF to SCUS_972.48...if there isn't one? Add one from one of your games ^^

Burning instructions: If you had to pull a disc image apart to change it around, burn all of it in Nero (Mode 2/XA DAO Finalize session)...

    Enjoy!

It's a neat trick, but it doesn't seem to work with all titles. Particularly PUKKLINK, which still tries to access all of its accompanying IRXes and DATs directly through CDFS. But it does work great with self-contained ELFs!

And ODD, I've used PS2MENU to access ELFs contained in the config partition of the hard drive, but HDLOADER itself doesn't display that partition. It only displays those crazy partitions it creates when it rips a disc. I hope to see a workaround from you real soon!

funny, i tried installing the mediaplayer using that same method about a week ago and hdloader said it wasnt a valid ps2 game...and yes i did edit the system.cnf

Maybe if I use a system.cnf from a official game, and modify it to point to the mediaplayer it will work. Have you actually done it with the mediaplayer? And can it access the files that were on the disc at the time from hdd...(meaning that if you had movies on the disc, now on hdd, you can still watch from hdd)
