actually the games would have no problem.. teh system can adapt to the 1.1 standard for some items.. even at that they could have one 1.1 and one 2.o port... seen several computers setup like that.. ran from the same chip....
as for the cost... 1.1 is dead... who the hell is still making these chips when the demand is for the other... making the 1.1 chips more exspensive to produce... If SONY is making them.. it sould be easier to use the sae chips they make for their comps.
New library commands wouldn't be needed for the old games that support the HDD... because the IDE interface would be implimented through emulation for the USB... in teh system bios.... it just makes sense, Chewbacca defense.... fingers crossed on such a wonderful thing....
