1) sony is already planning to revise the pstwo to defeat the swap magic discs. sucess will of course change their discs so that they work again. go figure. This will probably also shut down hdadvance pressed disc as well.

2) you CAN use swaps on the PSTWO, but you must open the console to get at the switch. i will post the tutorial on request.

3) The USB ports on the PSTwo are usb 2.0 ports! this means...

4) someone is developing a product that will load games from USB hard drives! that other site says it will show up on 30-60 days.

WIth the help of the Crystal Chip, designed *from the ground up* for homebrew, and the built-in network connection, and usb 2.0 the future looks bright for the PSTWO. and for those without chip, swap magic just became a WHOLE lot better!

this ALSO means that SOny may release a USB hd solution for the PSTwo, as it's USB bus has the bandwidth needed!

Honestly, if we did it, it wouldn't be by ripping it, but by using frreely available and developed libraries, and creating a drop in replacement for hdloaders ATAD that goes to USB drive instead.

But all joking aside, the fact that the new ports are usb 2.0 means that a usb hard drive is a much more viable storage option for homebrew stuff than before. and the fact that it is possible to fool the sensor means that yo ucan now get homebrew code running on the pstwo without messing up your laser even though the independence exploit is closed.

Anyway, now it's actaulyl practical to use USB HDD since the usb ports ahve been upgraded.

As for me ripping their app, hell yeah. I have no problems releasing their supposed work. They have done nothing but rip the hard work of others for years. Their new hda V2 is also a perfect example of this. You seem to want to defend the lowlifes that even went as low as to rip naplink and sell it on pressed discs. Ive made my case.

This "other" site of yours must be on crack. The USB ports are still just 1.1 and not 2.0.

WEll i guess they could be lying, but...

I would liek to see proof of this either way. YOu actaully have a PsTwo?

Considering the USB 2.0 ports would use a USB EHCI controller and not the standard controller found in the original PS2, they'd be breaking compatibility with all of the games that have used USB previously, plus the EHCI controller would be more expensive to impliment, and the PSTwo is obviously the 'end of life' model to make way for the PSP and PS3.

Thus, I say that USB 2.0 on the PSTwo is bunk (UNLESS they added it to link with the PSP and added some rom0: librarys for EHCI that defaultly override usbd.irx)
