hey guys, before i start ranting id just like to say thanks to all the people who make this website, it has been a valuable resource with basically everything needed for the ps2 modding and customization.

    anyway, heres my problem....

ive got a matrix infinity mod chip and have just put in a 80GB hdd with the network adapter. im using a cd to launch ulauchelf then from in there i im loading hdloader (0.7 patched). ive tried to copy the ulauch to the hdd so that i can use DEV2 (with infinity chip) to automatically boot into it but it just comes with a red screen.

how can i get the infinity chip to boot straight of the hdd (without red screen)? where does the chip look for the elf file? mc0:/boot/boot.elf?

the EA games ive copied with hdl_dumx-0.8.3 dont seem to be working, just gives me a black screen once i select it in hdloader. do i need to patch them or something? (pro evol 5 does work aswell as a couple of others)

the hdl_dumx-0.8.3 program is refusing to connect through the network, ive setup all the ip addresses but it refuses to connect, ftp does work but is shite for copying the isos. any ideas

which is the newest hdloader? can someone give me a direct link?

basically, i want the infinity chip to look at the hdd for ulauchelf which will let me then run the newest version of hdloader to then load my games.

my head has been pickled by this so bare with me and this fragmented post, any help appreciated.

    thanks again.

DEV2 boot has NOTTING to do with uLaunchElf at all. U need to download the DEV2 install software on the matrix infinity site. Read the readme.txt in the zip file. Click HERE for more info

Just write the newest firmware to your chip, u can download matrix infinity firmware from the previous link above.

U can also install matrix memory card manager, its included in the 1.36 firmware.(dont install the firmware, just install the matrix memory card manager)

Matrix memory card manager can show a maximum of 5 apps in the memory card menu.
    It also has 3 DEV1 boot methods(boot.elf, boot1.elf and boot2.elf) u can start any app u want with the L2, R2 and/or R1 button.
Dev2 mode will start any app u want from HDD with the R1 button.

Read the readme.txt files that comes with the firmware upgrades instead of asking questions u can answer yourself, no offense but its not that hard, just try it at least.

HERE is an interessting tutorial i have written, u can learn a lot from it too.
there's also a search button on this forum so try that first, coz nobody here wants to answer the same question 4 times a day. Again, no offense.

Good luck, if u really habve problems u can always ask it here, but try it yourself first and read previous answered questions first please.

    Good luck
