First of all what you have done so far and what are the ways you are using to install or run the FapServer in the PS2 side?

Well to start it off, I have a ps2 v9 with dms 3 installed and using the memory exploit of hd loader... I downloaded the cd version of Fablink and it booted fine in my ps2, it said the ip address was in default, and said the correct ip 192.168.0.10 in a black screen... and at the bottom, it said READY .... i tried to connect on my pc, with the fablink.exe but it wouldn't connect... keep saying "error connecting"... and i did wait like 10 sec after it said "READY" I really want to use this program badly , and want some HELP

get your netwrok startup CD, go to advanced, test connection. once you connect, it should tell you your IP and stuff. Copy the last 2 IP addresses (prim DNS, sec DNS).
Now go back, and edit your network configuration, go to your profile, and go advanced, set your own IP.
    PS2 IP-192.168.0.10
    Netmask - 255.255.255.0
    Default router - 192.168.0.1
then your Prim DNS and SEC DNS.

note: if when you check your current IP settigs, your Netmask isnt 255.255.255.0, or your default router isnt 192.168.0.1, then your gonna have to make an IPCONFIG.DAT file, and put it in the same file as your fap_srv.elf.

IPCONFIG.DAT is just a text file.

make a text file called IPCONFIG.DAT
and type in the IP<SPACE>subnet mask<SPACE>gateway.
    eg:
    192.168.1.111 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1<ENTER>

    that sets the ps2
    IP to 192.168.1.111
    subnet to 255.255.255.0
    router to 192.168.1.1

but FAP doesn't look in its directory for it, it looks on the memory card for it only.
(MC0:/FAPLINK). You have to use matrix infinity or dms3 product for dev modes to install it to the memory card.

It is most likely a problem with your PCs network settings. If you are not on the same network as the ps2, you will not be able to connect. For instance: the ps2 is on the 192.168.0 network. If your pc is on say the 192.168.2 network, you will not be able to connect, unless routed. So an easy fix would be to change the ps2's ip address and gateway ip (on mc0 via ipconfig.dat.) OR change your PCs ip/gateway (assuming you are using a router/hub/switch.

If you need more information on how to go about doing this, pm me and I would be glad to help.

P.S. The 5 bux isn't needed. A thanks will do fine

You guys should really stop offering ''reward'' in exchange for help on the forum. The forum is here to help people for free.
"Video games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around in a darkened room munching pills and listening to repetitive music."
