I am interesed in HD Combo too... haven't found someone in europe to sell them yet... so where is OP from?
Can't tell. he's using a proxy.
Just so everyone knows, the 48bit LBA patch uses 32bit sector addresses which means the largest disk you can use if 2TB. When a disk larger then that comes out (likely very soon), it probably won't work properly.
I'm just pointing this out so people don't buy >2TB disks and complain that it doesn't work right. It isn't like the 28bit lba issue where everything below 128GB worked fine. It might be (I'm not 100% sure) that since the sector count will overflow, you would only be able to use the amount of space the disk has above 2TB. In other words if the disk has 2.1TB you would only be able to use .1TB of space.
Just out of curiosity, (I've never tried it) do ide to sata work properly with the PS2?
it's all good.had to get my addition to people about the game limitation within it.
interesting theory on the hdd's greater than 2TB.
i'd love to confirm it, but I'm without any real adapter. the ide bus to sata hdd adapters I got from ebay are junk and most components on it need to be removed, realigned, and resoldered. some users are reporting good results with it though. I'm rather tempted to pick up another network adapter to modify just for this.
As for the sata version hd connect for slim, it looks very promising. I just wish they'd do a HD Combo version for a neater packaging.
