I have a SATA device to IDE interface converter kicking around my cavern (my wife calls it an office but its way too untidy for that) somewhere. I'll dig it out and try a spare SATA drive I have. this one came with a media player this one in fact (http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=PM318S&cat=CSE) which has an internal IDE interface and uses a SATA converter to allow SATA HDDs. If you look at the picture you can see a mini IDE cable and the power cable. Anyhow I'll try it over the next week or so.
