I wanted to put 1 in my ps2 so i can run games of it using mem card exploit. so i ordered my network adaptor and formated a hdd for ps2 use using winhiip and installed some games and it worked a treat for about 30mins when i tryed to delete a game and it went deft and deleted more than 1 game when i rebooted it said there wasnt a hdd instaled do you want to format so i choose yes it starts to work then i get a error and now i cant format it with fdisk or anything.
and to make matters worse my other hdd is bust affter using it in my ps2 for a couple of days same prob.

    Hiya,
Let me redirect you to this post

    http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showthread.php?t=26488

Try the steps I have suggested when putting in the computer. IF you can get Active SMART on the drive, it will help you quickly diagnose whats wrong, and how it happened (google the problem it specifies if you don't understand the terminology)

    Hope this helps you,
    -Tachyon

tooter, I had something of the same problem, I have a 120gb Maxtor hd, I had all games installed ok, I used faplink to try to install something, faplink failed the transfer, when I booted up hdloader the files were there so I deleted them and they deleated the whole hdd, so I thought hdloader wiped the whole hd, so I put it back into the PS2 and used winhiip, it told me that there was partions missing and if I wanted to recover them, I clicked yes and there is was, my whole game list.

So therefore, try putting the drive back into the PC and use winhiip see if there is anything it can do to recover the partions. as far as I know Seagate drives are 100% compatable, like the Maxtor drives, so there shouldn't be any reason why they wouldn't work

forgot to mention, I know nothing of the MC exploit, but something might be wrong with your installation
