I need some explanations please

I've got a modded V4 PS2(MI w/ latest firmware) and I have a suitable HD for the thing. I've installed HDLoader 0.7 awhile back but I was not impressed with the success rate at which games booted... out of the 12 or so that I dumped I think only 3 worked. I didn't know about switching modes so I'm about to give it a whirl witht he newest version of HDL.

My questions are as follow...

1. What would be my best plan of action? I want to beable to use the HD to play games to prolong my PS2's laser.

2. What is uLaunchELF and what is it capable of doing? IE.. can it boot games?

3. Are DVD9 games working on HD?

4. Are there game specific patches for compatability with HDL and if so where are they found?

I'm going to do more google searches and browse through the forums here to try and answere some of my own questions but PLEASE help the newbert out. I don't want to replace another lens in my ps2.

I just wanted to mention what I've done thus far.

I've got uLaunchELF setup for DEV2 lauch with my Matrix Infinity. I then have HDL on my MC.

uLaunchELF is a great program with lots of funtionality but damn is it ugly. Is there anything out there that looks better with similar funtionality?

you mean the background? if that's so you can use any jpg as wallpaper use your favorite pic

I meant more like a better looking GUI all together... though I did not know I could use my own pic as a background... that will help.

Well the whole point of ULaunchElf is to have an uncluttered by visuals interface. I find the Jpeg support is enough to make it look pretty :)

Don't get me wrong, it's a great little app. I guess I'm just spoiled by the beauty or the XBOX softmods.
