I read some posts about people that were able to put the HD Loader program onto a Memory card. Any one know how to do this?

A "cracked" program called Free HDLoader was released. It's filesize was 700kb and all it needed was its main program file. So it was MC-ready...just upload and use.

If you have the 700kb version, then you can use ps2menu to get it from CD (or network or hdd of course) to MC.

direct booting of programs through the MC is only possible with dms3 chip.

BUT, if you have ps2menu installed on the independence exploit, all you have to do is pop in a ps1 disc, and it will automatically execute. From theire you can either swap, or if you have a chip, then just put in any cd you need.

I found a website where it teaches you step by step how to put the hd loader onto the mc and use a ps1 disc to boot it, but I guess that website has been censored here. Anyway since only direct links are illegal here, you can go to this post on another forum: http://forums.psxforum.com/viewtopic...er=asc&start=0
The link is mentioned on page 3

i have the messiah chip. so there would be no sense in using the exploit!!??
because, its just the same procedure, to insert the hdloader disc or any psx game. mhh, dev mode is a cool thing. :-/

I downloaded the filepack rar, but when i go to extract with winzip, it won't unzip any of the files. I keep getting a "CRC Error" on each file. Any idea?
