    as stated above:

how long does it take you from pushing the ON/Off button till you can scroll through the HDA-menu? I use the CD-based 48bit-version of HDA 2.0 and I need about 35 seconds. Is there a way to modify my cd (dummy files etc.) to make it boot faster?

    cu,

I'm think mine takes around 40 seconds from the on button, it's a little longer since i'm using launchelf to boot hdl. The amount of games that you have on your hd also affects the loading speed of hdl.

I would say from pressing X at the launchelf menu it take about 10 seconds.

I think loading time might have something to do with the fragmentation of the installed games. I found that deleting ans installing games slowed down the loading times, but fresh installs with no deletes was faster,

    @ dog2525:

from pushing the PS2 ON button to the select menu (HDA) it is just 10 sec? That can't be true since the sony and the PS2 logo make up even more than 10 Secs.

When booting directly from MC using Devolution mode 1, no logos are shown. Instead some elf is launched with a minimum of delay. Usually that will be some browser/launcher (like LaunchELF) which can very quickly launch the HDLoader elf.

I am using the memory card/exploit to store the launchelf app, but the rest of my elf files are stored on my hd including the hdloader. I have over 20 games installed on the hd, and by having the hdloader load of the hd instead it's shaved about 10 seconds off the "boot time".

I'm talking about delay that one normally sees from the hdloader splash screen, to it displaying the list of games, it used to be around a 15-20 second delay before the list came up, now it's around 5 seconds as a result of moving my hdloader to the hd itself instead of the mc.
