  1. #1 how to get files to ur mc/hd without using ftp or cd-r

i tried creating an iso of a cd that u would use to install the exploit so i can get a proper config.dat file for execftp so i can ftp to my ps2, but its getting the config.dat file on my mc/hd thats the problem. when i load up the iso through hdloader i get an error: error loading cdvd.irx(or something similar)

can this method be properly executed or is there another way to do it?

    thanks

i think you can just use a SM 128 usb drive to quick transfer the files into the ps2 memory

i found another way, i made an iso wwith execftp on it and it loads just fine, but now i have another problem, i can login right away using flashfxp and i can see the three folders, HDD, MC and another folder i cant remember the name. as soon as i try to navigate through the srever seems to freeze and then when i disconnect and reconnect i cant connect again, and i gotta restart execftp on my ps2.

    anyone else experiencing this problem?

I had the same problem. For some reason (this might be only with me but it worked for me), I had problems ftping into the ps2 when the elf was launched from anything other than the MC. You basically need to keep trying to connect untill it finally gives you MC access and put exectftp on the mc and boot it up from there. Once you boot it from the mc that usually solves a lot of problems. Check here for more info.
    check out my tutorial at:
    http://ps2.lookatthemonkeys.com
    and check out my site
    http://lookatthemonkeys.com

Tutorial includes: MC exploit, ExectFTP, FAPLink, KeyLauncher, HDD parititions, LaunchELF, 48bit patching, skinning HDL/HDA

Message me for any additions you would like to see on the tutorial.

There is no solution. This is a common problem with ExecFTP.

hmm ill try that then, but im gonna have to wait till i get a hold of my buddys modded ps2 to run the exploit to my mc then, cuz the config.dat file i have on my mc now is setup for the wrong ip address.

    thanks

    Concerning ExecFTPs:
I found one problem that makes it impossible for ExecFTPs to display the MC directory if it contains exactly either 20 or 21 objects (including system settings folder, if present). I've reported this to the author of ExcFTPs, who has promised to look into it ASAP. Hopefully a fix will be released shortly.

If that was the problem you suffered, then you might get around it by adding one or two extra saves to the MC, checking through the normal PS2 browser that the number of objects is 22 or larger. The MC directory will then become visible to ExecFTPs even with the current bug. (Might be Cyclic, so be careful if you have around 40 objects.)

    Best regards: dlanor
