Help with Toxic OS –
06-17-2005,11:32 PM
Hi, I have Toxic OS v0.3 brand new ordered from modchipworld.com and so far it looks like the discs work US and backup (havent tried japanese yet) but the HD mod doesnt work as it should. Toxic OS works as a HD advance built in, I load up the browzer, put the game on the HD see the game in the menu but when I go to play it I just get a black screen. I know there are some compatability options to toggle around but so far nothing works on any game I try. I tried, God of War, Katamari damacy, disgea, tekken 5, DDR extreme, Resident evil outbreak and still nothing.
Anyone know anything I am missing? Am I doing something wrong? My HD advance I use on my other PS2 works fine, its not compatible with my PSTWO though and using the HD advance on the PSTWO doesnt work since it asks me to format every time I load it up!
I was suggested to use winhip but I dont see how that would help since my problem isnt getting the games ON there its actually playing them. The system seems to be set up all correctly especially since it reads the HD and plays the discs fine. (I also have a laptop so using Winhip even if it does help doesnt seem possible. dont tell me im gonna have to shell out another $50 on top of all i spent for a fully modded PSTWO to get a case for an internal HD just to use with the laptop. I also fried a Desktop power outlet just plugging in a HD once so I do NOT want to be messing around with stuff like that again.)
Someone help---!!

@karl kablisk:
You've just bought a product which doesn't work, right ?
Your obvious course of action then is to demand a replacement from those who sold it to you, or if they refuse that, then at least demand that they explain what is happening and how to get around it.
For us here to attempt doing this is sort of futile, as this is not a DMS support center, and we are not privy to the secrets of how Toxic OS works internally. (Personally I'm not even interested in it, as I believe they're heading in the wrong direction.)
Demand your rights as a paying customer, from the retailers and manufacturers of the stuff you bought. That is the best advice I can give you.
Best regards: dlanor

it sounds like there is a problem with your HDD, not your modchip.
reflash your chip to toxic os 0.2, format your hdd, then install a game which is confirmed compatable.
if your games do not boot with 0.2 then the hdd is to blame.

burn the toxicos 0.2 onto a cd. then boot it on your ps2. press X to flash it to your modchip. restart your ps2 when the process completes then boot up holding the R1 key to boot into toxicos

or try pressing circle i think to set the modes... Toxic OS doesn't use select to set modes like HD Loader
God made me do it
